These aren't "hiccups" anymore Also, I wish the explanations were posted up front on the site or even the Flickr blog , not buried in The Help Forum. Mike Cash - let me know how you get on with that shopping round. This is bullshit Posted ages ago. Kevin and support guys I am still having hiccups and very slow behavior in Flickr I am experiencing sometimes 10min to show up a picture I think is time a official announcement from Flickr.
I lost my trust in yahoo! I know you guys are trying all the best, but is take too long What's the deal? Five days and counting Mr. Since you have nothing to add either, maybe you should stop bellyaching about those of us who want to flickr back like it was.
Hold your clicks a moment please Flickr has the hiccups. We're looking into the problem right now. What are we doing? In addition to drinking a glass of water upside down, our engineers and operations team have literally been working through the weekend around the clock in an effort to resolve this situation. For information and updates, please look for a Hot Topic in the Help Forum. This would be that help Forum Topic.
I'm hoping that we'll have more of an update shortly, but I wanted you all to know of this change. It's a comfort to know that they're working on it Has anyone phoned Bill Gates about this? For me it seems it's worse than yesterday. I've uploaded quite a few photos yesterday, which worked even with the slowness and occasional error message.
But today I get the 'hiccups' message pretty much all the time. Is my account on one of the problematic DB's or something? It sounds like you've got too little hardware and too many users. Are you waiting on additional hardware to arrive and take pressure off the overloaded cluster? More information might help people to understand exactly how long this issue is going to take.
I know that you're working hard to fix it, and I absolutely appreciate the effort! Is this one of those cyber-attack sort of things? August 17, , AM PDT: If you're seeing this message, there's a very small chance your photostream is hosted on one of our 62 database clusters that's been experiencing ongoing difficulties.
There's a far greater chance that you're seeing the hiccup message because you're trying to access a page a member's photostream, a group discussion, even the Help Forum on Flickr that is making calls to that cluster to display information a member's buddy icon, their comments, etc.
Immediately reloading this page in an effort to see what you're trying to see might further complicate the problem hence, "hold your clicks". Hit your browser's "back button" to return to what you were previously viewing.
We know it sucks — we're sorry for any frustration that you may be experiencing. Michelle Brea says: flickr is having an attack every 30 minutes!!! Marty says: Hey Kevin says: Marty you aren't on the main db cluster affected, but there can be affects if there is participation with groups or other members on the affected cluster. Celeste M more off than on says: I tend to be extremely patient, but three days of being able to see my "Recent Activity" only rarely is very painful and disrupting my ability to keep up with comments and especially faves from my contacts and others.
Bug's Daddy says: When I click on a stream, only half of the photos load. Kevin says: No, Therrr- this started up on Wednesday afternoon. Human beings can have the hiccups - ususally those attacks do not last long - in some severe cases people have been known to have the hiccups for a couple of years - however, there has so far been no known record of Flickr's hiccups lasting that long - recovery mostly occurs within say, twenty minutes.
Posted ages ago. Iansand You should learn to distinguish between cynicism - sarcasm - irony - humour - imagination. I thought it was a place to be helpful and supportive, instead it appears to be a backbiting scenario so often Staff are busy at the moment that is evident, and so as we respect others photos and it is not necessary to be rude on someones photostream I suggest you clean your cache.
Maybe that will help. For those who haven't noticed, Karen posted her question yesterday, when Flickr was hiccupping. It lasted about 10 minutes for me. I can't see any recent uploads from people. If I type in Tokyo and click on the "most recent" link, it shows only a few photos up until yesterday. It doesn't show any photos from today as it usually does. I guess it's really lagging behind We're working on it, sorry. Also, Organizing is not working at all. I tried last night and this morning with the same result.
None of my photos show up in any of the Arrange or Organize windows. The names of the sets and the collections show up but they do not pull the images. Looks like the db is not finding them. Hope it gets fixed soon Speaking of the Organize menu, when I was finishing putting some photos onto the map, I was forced to clear my browser's cache after something caused my photostream below the map to show my uploads in the incorrect order of uploads.
But uploading, posting to sets, posting to groups, commenting on my photos and other members' photos, adding notes and tags to my photos, and even adding other members' photos to my Favorites I had hardly any trouble. It appears that the global tag indexing is catching up -- I can now see tags for photos I uploaded last night and this morning. I am having loads of problems.
Most have to do with "group" and New activity. It has been going on for a couple of days and I am glad that you are aware of it and working on the problem. To be clear.
The group menu does not come down; The select a group dissapears or blows uo if you try to recommend a group to someone. I am not getting "Recent activity on your photos" posted and it seems that the Flickr email has stopped. I have never been able to email a photo from Flickr. I am told that my server can not be forun and the server is Yahoo.
I am glad you are aware of all these problems and working on them. I thought it was only me and that if a frightening thought. Flickr logo. If you click it, you'll go home. Sign Up Explore.
