Yes, she does say to kill Parthurnax. Not going to say anything smartass, or hateful, but you were wrong with that statement. JDL I think it may depend on your actions throughout the game? I only say this, because after writing that message, I went and did the quest to make sure I didn't misinform. When I completed the quest, Esbern was the one to come and tell me to kill him. I'm not accusing you of lying, just kind of confused. Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account?

Upon completing the game, Paarthurnax appears in a special cutscene and vows to rein in the remaining dragons, teaching them the Way of the Voice, and instilling peace throughout Skyrim. The only negative to keeping him alive is that Esbern will not create the potion and the quest will go incomplete in the player's quest log.
It should also be noted the player will still have access to Sky Haven Temple, the headquarters of the Blades. In there, players will find a sword that deals extra damage to dragons and can be used in lieu of Esbern's potion for a similar effect. Choosing the fate of Paarthurnax is another morally grey area of the game.
Skyrim often asks players to make a choice between two bleak options, but the benefits to keeping Paarthurnax around far outweighs slaying him merely for the sake of a one-time-use potion and the title of Blade. Allowing Paarthurnax to live is a symbolic step toward peace, not only for the events of the council but in proving that dragons are not inherently bad.
Paarthurnax is one of Skyrim 's most memorable characters. Taking refuge at the peak of the Throat of the World, he is one of very few non-hostile dragons players meet in the game. Parthurnaax lives a life of meditation that makes the Blades' request to kill him shocking to many players on their first run through the game's main quest. Many players ignore the Blades' request to kill Parthurnaax, choosing to spare him at the cost of missing out on future quests with the faction. Being asked to kill Parthurnaax is one of the most memorable moments in Skyrim 's main quest , though for many players the drama of the request never comes to full fruition, and the Dragonborn and the Blades go their separate ways. Many Skyrim fans will cite one of Parthurnaax's most memorable lines when justifying their choice: "what is better - to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort? The case for sparing Parthurnaax is relatively straightforward.
He helps the player on their quest to defeat Alduin, he helped teach the Greybeards the Thu'um - the Way of the Voice - and until the Dragonborn arrived, he was living a life of quiet contemplation. Ultimately, siding with Parthurnaax and the Greybeards over the Blades is often about judging Parthurnaax's morality on a personal level.
Arngeir will still disclose the location of Word Walls. Paarthurnax will still provide meditation bonuses for Shout words. Paarthurnax will appear for an extra cutscene after Alduin's defeat, wherein he details his plans to rein in the Dragons and teach them to live under the Way of the Voice.
Delphine's recruitment quest will remain uncompleted. Esbern will not offer to create the potion. Improve this answer.
The wiki is not entirely correct. I was able to complete Delphines' recruitment quest after being asked to kill Paarthurnax, but not doing so. I killed Paarthurnax too after killing alduin. I don't remember doing a peace treaty but I definitely killed Tullius by siding with Ulfric. Faith Edwards Faith Edwards 2 2 silver badges 4 4 bronze badges. It seems the results will not be very good at this moment, so just beware.
Here are results for kill Paathurnaax: If he's dead, The blades will greet you with warm welcome in Sky Haven Temple whenever you talk to them. Since Paathurnaax is dead, he won't let you meditate on word of power. If you let him alive, The blades will still tell you to kill him. Arngier will still tell you about word of power now that you explore by yourself. Esbern won't create the potion. Jim Jim 1 1 silver badge 11 11 bronze badges.
