Can you keep budgies with finches

Due to their innate aggressive temperament lovebirds pose a danger to other birds, often biting or attacking them with their large strong beaks, causing serious injure or death. The most likely to get along with your parakeet is the equally sociable zebra finch, who hails from Australia, as budgerigars, a type of parakeet, do.

Other finches that can live harmoniously with parakeets include the nutmeg mannikin, the java sparrow, the double-barred finch and the cordon-bleu. There are a few finches that can live in proximity with budgies, including the nutmeg mannikin Lonchrua punctulata , which is also known as the spice finch, scaly-breasted munia and spotted munia.

Finches That Can Be Housed With Budgies There are a few finches that can live in proximity with budgies, including the nutmeg mannikin Lonchrua punctulata , which is also known as the spice finch, scaly-breasted munia and spotted munia. Both budgies parakeets and finches are friendly birds that get along well with others, but there are inherent problems with keeping two dramatically different types of birds together, especially in the same cage.

Some budgies love it! Maybe you just have that Magical touch YOU could probably house a fox with a rabbit and they'd be the best of friends!!

Some people have that touch I know a woman who baths all her reptiles together and they all live in harmony From snakes to chameleons to geckos to Iguanas Go Figure!! My advise would be to just keep an eye on them I knew of a lady who had finches, parakeets, a cockatiel and lovebirds all in the same cage!! And I've heard lovebirds are very aggressive towards other birds, but I guess it just depends on the bird's personality Good Luck With You!! Im still watching them.

The budgies are not as chatty as normal and the finch keeping fluttering form one budgie to the next singing to them. But so far no problem. I do not have a budgie. I checked in the net if anybody does.

I think generally we should not keep other bird with a budgie as all parrots have a plier-like bite. They did great. This is especially true when the two kinds of birds are kept in the same cage together. Housing the birds separately makes sense. There are a few finches that can live in proximity with budgies, including the nutmeg mannikin Lonchrua punctulata , which is also known as the spice finch, scaly-breasted munia and spotted munia.

Another agreeable finch is the white-backed munia Lonchura striata also known as the striated finch, sharp-tailed finch and wild Bangalese finch. Then there is the Java sparrow Lonchura oryzivora , and the Double-barred finch Taeniopygia bichenovii that hails from Australia just like budgies. Budgies are larger than most finches but not as energetic. Finches should always live in pairs or communities and you can even keep a variety of different finch species in the same aviary.

Finches will also cohabitate with other birds. Both budgies parakeets and finches are friendly birds that get along well with others, but there are inherent problems with keeping two dramatically different types of birds together, especially in the same cage.

If anything Greys can sometimes be more reluctant to get on with other birds but they are all individual and pick and choose who they like and dislike whether it is birds or humans.

If you get a young Grey I think it is unlikely that it would bond more with your other birds than with you. Parrots are actually herbivorous except for the fact that quite a few of them are omnivorous too. Generally, parrots predominantly feed on buds, fruits, seeds, uncooked spinach, plants, floral nectar, arthropods, and pollen.
